ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
This exhibition explores the paintings of Ethan Meyer whose work looks beyond the physical world to consider how thought and the unseen influence our world-views.

Artists, like Meyer, have long explored the invisible worlds we sense but cannot necessarily touch or easily show others. These artists explore the spiritual and sublime in art and include Wassily Kandinsky, Kasimir Malevich, and Max Weber.

Meyer stakes out his goals clearly. “The themes in my work concern themselves with universal questions, such as: what is the nature of consciousness, what is the nature of reality, and the inherent problem that comes from being both sentient and mortal.”

Ethan Meyer lives and works in St. Louis. Meyer is the Assistant Director at Duane Reed Gallery, St. Louis. A graduate of Webster University, Meyer has shown his work in St. Louis, Chicago, San Francisco and Miami.
