FRONT LINE RECEPTIONIST 

Description:

The Front Line Receptionist offers the first impression to those who visit Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. This position will answer and manage the phone system, greet and receive visitors, and manage ticket sales and customer interactions. A friendly, upbeat personality is a must. This position will also serve as an assistant to museum directors and assist with general administrative tasks such as typing, mail preparations, etc. This position is available as a part-time position or full-time position with benefits. Both options do include weekend work on a rotational basis.

WEEKEND ATTENDANT

Description:

The Weekend Attendant is the first impression at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. This position will greet visitors to the Mitchell Museum and Shrode Art Center buildings, answer phones and take messages for museum staff, and manage ticket sales and customer interactions. A friendly, upbeat personality is a must. This position works 10 hours every other weekend.

 

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, upbeat personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills, high energy, and creative initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to master new technologies.
  • Ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends, as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to learn operation of museum software
  • Preferred experience in workspace softwares, specifically Canva and Google Workspace

Work Hours and Duties:

  • This position is available as a part-time position or full-time position with benefits. Both options include weekend work on a rotational basis. 
  • Staff the front reception desk and effectively interact with visitors and members to ensure positive experiences, answer questions, and resolve complaints.
  • Build a thorough understanding of all levels of membership and current museum programming.
  • Conduct point of sale transactions for museum visitors.

Compensation:

This position is available as a part-time position or full-time position with benefits. Pay is $16/hour.
