OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER
Company: Do you want to work at the most beautiful place in southern Illinois? There’s a lot happening at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, and we are hiring! The museum is currently accepting applications for a full-time Operations team member who can support the Director of Operations in all areas of maintaining the buildings, grounds, and systems at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. We encourage applications from those with specialty skills in areas such cleaning and maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or machinery.
Description: This all-inclusive position will assist with all operational aspects of the Cedarhurst campus. From opening and cleaning buildings, to grounds care and maintenance, to setting up for events, installing holiday lights, and tackling small electrical and plumbing tasks; we are looking for can-do individuals who will enhance the visitor experience at Cedarhurst. This position joins a team of four and reports to the Director of Operations.
General duties:
Open and close Cedarhurst campus; set up for museum events
Event staffing, back of house
General cleaning and painting
Ground work, such as planting, mowing, weed eating, etc.
Maintenance and repair for buildings and equipment
Art handling and installation
Assist departmental directors with odd jobs and errands
Interact with guests, volunteers, and staff in a positive manner
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma, college or technical training preferred
Ability to follow both written and verbal directions and act independently to complete tasks
General knowledge of tools and equipment
General physical endurance, including the ability to bend, pull, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
Compensation and Hours:
This is a full-time position. Starting pay is $15/hour and may increase based on experience and skills.
Typical workweek averages 40 hours and includes a weekend rotation. Some evening hours are required depending on museum events and rentals.
