ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
Flying Geese was the theme selected by the Cedarhurst Quilters for their annual Snuggle and Snooze exhibition. Flying Geese is a traditional quilt block with a triangle in the center. The triangle is considered the goose, with the space around it being the sky. When multiple triangles are arranged in a line, it represents a flock of geese flying in formation.
The Quilters were given complete creative freedom and encouraged to take this traditional block and create their own interpretation. There are lots of ways to “play” with this pattern. This past November, the club held a workshop during one of their monthly meetings. Three different members taught three different ways to sew a flying geese block.
