🥃Introduction to Engraving and Etching on Glass
Meets 4 Tuesdays: April 9, 16, 23, 30 | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Instructor: Matthew Price | Class fee: $75 Material fee $5-$15 (varies based on number of student projects)
Students will learn three different engraving/etching techniques and how to personalize glass objects with their own unique imagery or text.
Week one: Engraving will be demonstrated using a diamond tipped engraving tool. Each student will receive one stylus to keep, included with the workshop fee. A variety of glass cups, coasters and bottle/vessels will be available to purchase from the instructor. Prices vary $5-$15.
Week two: Acid etching will be demonstrated using stencils, whether self-made or manufactured.
Week three: Students will learn how to use the sandblaster and sandblasting technique.
Week four: This class will be a time to combine multiple methods or work to finish a larger, more detailed project of student’s choice.
